IntelliInput
for LifeBalance
What is LifeBalance?
LifeBalance(TM), sometimes referred to on user groups as "LB", is a ToDo list manager on steroids developed by Llamagraphics,
Inc. It has an outliner part, where you can input your ToDos into a
hierarhical list, using a "top-down" approach. What makes LifeBalance
stand out from the crowd of similar programs is its ability to
dinamically generate an ordered ToDo list based on your assigned
"importance" values generating a "balanced" approach to your list (see
more on the Llamagraphics web page - The Life Balance (TM) software product is copyright Llamagraphics, Inc. - Trademarks used with permission)
Why do we need
IntelliInput4LB?
The only thing which was
missing (at least for me) from this software was an easier way to jot
down a ToDo while you are working in a way which makes it easy to
import it into LifeBalance later. Surely you can have LB open all the
time and you can try inserting your ToDo into it every time you have
one, but setting the place, the due date or repeat information would be
a serious interruption to your workflow and hamper your
productivity. This is where
IntelliInput4LB comes in. The program in very small, you can always
keep it open to input your task with plain English descriptions of the
date and place information. The program then processes your list,
extracts the due date, the frequency (for repeating ToDos) and the
context (place) information, and insert it into LifeBalace at the
insertion point what you specify in the outline!
Features
- - small program, easy on your computer resources, you can keep it in the memory all the time
- - allows you input "date by calendar" in plain English (e.g today, tomorrow, 03/05/07, in 5 days, etc see detailed examples) as part of you task title
- - allows you input "due date" in plain English (e.g. by Monday, by next Tue, by tomorrow, etc)
- - you can input repeating ToDos with expressions like "daily", "weekly", "monthly", etc.
- - the place or context can be indicated as well (@home, @desk, @calls)
- - almost no restrictions on where you put these expressions within your ToDo line
- - no complicated syntax to learn
- - you can review and accept or decline what the program is about to insert into your LB outline before proceeding (easy check whether your plain English was recognised)
- - in the options you can set your date format as British or American, the path to LB, and whether you use "@" for your contexts in LB
- - and much, much more ;-) (read my lips: this probably all you could expect)
DOWNLOAD the program
Windows Standalone exe file (Windows 98/XP/Vista)
Program Documentation (pdf, read wherever Acrobat Reader runs)
The program needs no installation, just copy the exe file into a directory of your choice and run it from there by double-clicking on it. The first run will create an .ini file in the same directory (make sure that you set your LB path if different than indicated), then from the second run you can use IntelliInput as expected!
